During the first week the following questions will be addressed:
What is anger?
What are stages of anger?
How has anger affected our lives?
How do angry behaviors differ from anger as an emotion?

WEEK 2- Alternative to Problematic Behaviors
Group discussion will focus on alternatives to behaviors with negative consequences (e.g., Assault, arguments, destruction of property drug and alcohol use) that often result from feeling angry. Group members will discuss previous incidents of such behaviors and develop lists of alternative actions.

During this group members will learn how to set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time limited) goals. They will then develop action plans to attain their goals.

WEEK 5- Action Plans, continued.
Group members will discuss their progress in attaining their goals set during the previous week. Group discussion will focus on modifying group members' action plan as needed.

WEEK 6-Action Plans, continued & Relaxation Techniques
Group members will continue to discuss their progress in attaining their goals and managing their anger. A didactic presentation of several relaxation techniques will also be delivered and group members will have an opportunity to practice these techniques.
