Psychological Consultants of
Michigan, P.C. (PCM) has been serving the residents of Battle Creek and
southwest Michigan since 1979. The following highlights reflect our role
as a primary provider of psychological services to our community for
over 20 years.

- National accreditation by the
Commission on Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as an outpatient mental health
and substance abuse provider
- Licensure by the Michigan Department of Consumer &
Industry Services as a substance abuse assessment and treatment
program in Battle Creek and Albion
- Designation by the Michigan Department of Consumer &
Industry Services as a specialized substance abuse treatment
center for women
- Panel provider membership for the
majority of area insurance and managed care
plans
- Designation by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan as a
substance abuse treatment program
- Licensure/Certification by all clinical staff as
psychologists, social workers, professional counselors and/or
substance abuse counselors within their respective fields

Psychological Consultants uses quality improvement management
methods which enhance the quality of care. Client satisfaction and
outcome data consistently indicate a high level of satisfaction with
staff and the assistance customers received through PCM.
- Psychological Consultants has a thorough knowledge of the
requirements and expectations of managed care organizations which
assists customers in accessing services. Recognized as a
participating member on over 25 managed care panels/boards, PCM has
well-established relationships with the organizations who manage the
insurance/HMO benefits for the majority of residents of southwest/central
Michigan.
- The Chemical Dependency Resources division of Psychological
Consultants has been a primary provider of outpatient substance
abuse services for Calhoun County since 1980 by contract with the
State of Michigan. The Battle Creek location serves the largest
population in western Calhoun County while the Albion location
provides accessible services to residents of the eastern portion of
the county.
- Psychological Consultants has developed innovative services,
including; intensive outpatient substance abuse programs for adolescents, adults and
chemically dependent women, Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
assessment and treatment, collaborative substance abuse
rehabilitation services with Michigan Rehabilitation Services,
domestic violence/anger management and the management of adolescent depression.
- A well-established referral network for area services outside the
scope of PCM is maintained. PCM clinical staff have frequent contact
with a variety of area providers to whom referrals are facilitated
for the comprehensive care of each customer.
- PCM staff have made significant contributions to the southwest
Michigan area through participation in numerous community
initiatives benefiting children and families. Examples include:
Health & Human Services Coordinating Council,
State-wide ethics committee, Child Abuse and
Neglect Council, Substance Abuse Council of Greater Battle Creek,
Critical Incident Teams, Infant Mortality Review Committee, Families for Kids, local school
districts and numerous others.
